Celebrating Steve Conklin, Employee of the Year

Goleta Sanitary District prides itself on resource recovery and reuse. Plant Operator, Steve Conklin, a 30-year GSD veteran takes that to a new level. He took obsolete pipes from the Collection System and crafted them into flowerpots at the two entrances and throughout the facility.

If you happen to be driving by our facility across from the airport, look for these beautiful creations. These reclaimed pieces of pipe make the facility more attractive, and give the pipes a new life. Speaking of new life, Steve is planning his welldeserved retirement in June after over 30 years of service to the community. Well done Steve - and thank you!
