On a good note! We have some exciting news, we have been moving forward with our Biosolids & Energy Strategic Plan (BESP)! If you are a GSD customer, you have probably been hearing about the District’s plans for the Biosolids and Energy Plan for some time now, or at least we hope so. We are proud to inform you that we are currently under the first phase. This includes the construction of a new digester, biogas conditioning facility, and a combined heat and power (CHP) system to convert the biogas generated through the treatment process into energy to power our facilities.
Currently, the new digester is under construction, which will give us more capacity to store biosolids and be more efficient in our biosolids and biogas process. To learn more about the first phase and what the BESP will do go to our BESP page!
